We wanted to pay homage to one of Japan's most beloved icons – the sumo wrestler - and re-imagined an izakaya and bar that would be ideal for these cherubic champions to play, relax and drink after a long hard day of wrestling on the mat.

"AMAZAKE" is named after the traditional Japanese drink made from fermented rice. The drink is normally sweet and popular to use in many Japanese food and drink recipes. It's even been considered as a homegrown hangover cure – perfect to chug down after a night out at our izakaya bar.

168 Gallery is a large art creation space in Hong Kong which provides venue for hosting events and exhibitions. The décor at YUM CHA is reminiscent of a number of nostalgic Chinese dining traditions. A variety of decorative items such as traditional Chinese serving utensils and birdcages appear as a reference to the old teahouses of the past.
