The venue is a veritable haven of elegance and design, consisting of classic Polynesian deco, architectural creations of timber and bamboo. Dating back to 1888, The Pawn is housed in one of Hong Kong’s most historical buildings. What was once the famous Woo Cheong pawn shop became The Pawn in 2008 and re-opened in collaboration with British celebrity chef Tom Aikens after an extensive refurbishment. Featuring modern British cuisine on the second floor ‘Kitchen’ and handcrafted cocktails and artisanal spirits on the first floor ‘Botanicals’ bar. 

With a permanent art collection curated by well-known Hong Kong artist ‘anothermountainman’ (Stanley Wong) featuring some of Hong Kong’s top contemporary artists, The Pawn has become more than just a dining space. It is a communal social venue for an eclectic mix of groups and sub-cultures, celebrating retro-futurism, arts & design, through casual-chic, al fresco and relaxed dining.

Opened since 1998 in Hong Kong as the brain-child of veteran restaurateur, Mr. Carmelo Lopez. A native Spanish himself, he came to Asia in the 70’s but was still nostalgically attached to the richness and exquisite taste of the cuisine of his motherland. Ole was created from this crave for authenticity! Just experience the genuine touch of Spain the moment you step inside the restaurant: the lemon yellow plastered walls and glazed terracotta tiles of the Mediterranean, the lighting fixture and the decorative potteries directly flown from Spain. All these elements combined to recreate a unique and cozy atmosphere that goes hand in hand for the enjoyment one of the world’s finest cuisines. The extensive variety of delicacies, perfect with the Spanish wines, sangria or chilled beers. Live guitar music throughout the evening gracefully exhilarates a relaxing and enjoyable mood.

Located in the buzzing Lan Kwai Fong, it only takes 5-minute walk from Central MTR Station. The 900 square feet space can fit 55 guests. Other equipment such as complimentary Wifi or audio system etc are all well prepared. For food and drinks, guests can either bring their own F&B, order from the outside restaurant or request us to prepare in advance. We can also pre-order oyster and red wine with 5%off for guests who hire our venue.
