This private heritage house was built in 1894, and is in the heart of the bohemian village of Tai Hang, Causeway Bay. Our stunning 2-storey house has been standing since Tai Hang Village was a harbour front fishing village.

Inspired by the crazy nightlife and ferocious drinking culture of Japan, AMAZAKE is an izakaya and Japanese specialty bar combining the best of drinking's past, present and future. We wanted to pay homage to one of Japan's most beloved icons – the sumo wrestler - and re-imagined an izakaya and bar that would be ideal for these cherubic champions to play, relax and drink after a long hard day of wrestling on the mat.

"AMAZAKE" is named after the traditional Japanese drink made from fermented rice. The drink is normally sweet and popular to use in many Japanese food and drink recipes. It's even been considered as a homegrown hangover cure – perfect to chug down after a night out at our izakaya bar.

The original Japanese restaurant of Lan Kwai Fong and still as popular as ever, Tokio Joe offers a traditional Japanese dining experience in a comfortable, entertaining atmosphere. Chef Wah ignites the central sushi counter with his masterful skills and innovative twist on traditional sushi and sashimi. Whether you chose Omakase or à la carte, your taste buds will be blown away by the fresh ingredients and meticulous preparation. House Special Rolls and Spicy Toro Tartar are not to be missed.
