The Optimist is a no service charge Northern Spanish-inspired restaurant and Barcelona chic bar located at 239 Hennessy Road. The three-storied restaurant and bar serves Asador-inspired grilled seafood and meat and creative cocktails and drinks with Spanish flair.

A contemporary take on speakeasies, “I Know John” is a sophisticated, private lounge serving specialty mixologist-created cocktails and a carefully curated menu offering niche wines and whiskeys. Its ambiance is akin to Parisian street cafés, where dark wood panelings, maroon coloured-walls and mirrors etched with decorative scrolls creates a warm and cozy atmosphere. Embossed floral tiles on the ceiling give the atmosphere an air of casual elegance. The black and white checkered floor tiling, old posters and ornate brass racks perched high creates the feeling of nostalgia.
