The Hong Kong Academy of Flower Arrangement (hkafa) is a renowned international flower school. We wanted to pay homage to one of Japan's most beloved icons – the sumo wrestler - and re-imagined an izakaya and bar that would be ideal for these cherubic champions to play, relax and drink after a long hard day of wrestling on the mat.

"AMAZAKE" is named after the traditional Japanese drink made from fermented rice. The drink is normally sweet and popular to use in many Japanese food and drink recipes. It's even been considered as a homegrown hangover cure – perfect to chug down after a night out at our izakaya bar.

The newly renovated Palm Court re-opened as part of a USD multi-million dollar transformation for The Langham, Hong Kong, declaring a new era of refinement and civility. The refreshed, elegant lounge now presents a dramatic backdrop to the hotel lobby, featuring natural stone flooring and painted timber columns.
